Stomach Still Looks Small At 28 Weeks Pregnant?
…rnI’m Evi, I’m 23 years old and I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I want to ask, when I was 28 weeks pregnant, my stomach still looked small, not too big, unlike normal pregnant women. On February 26th, when I went to the midwife, my TFU height was 22cm. and when I was 26 weeks pregnant I had an ultrasound and my doctor said the normal weight of the baby in my stomach was 900gr, but the midwife was small. how? can you give me a solution to solve it all. Thank’s
Hi Evie Winarno. In general, the height of your uterine fundus or the height of your uterus if you are 28 weeks pregnant is normally about half the distance between the navel and the bottom of the chest. Based on this calculation in centimeters, an estimate of fetal weight can be obtained. The ideal fetal weight at this age is around 1000 grams.
Conditions that cause your own womb to be small can be in the form of problems with the amniotic fluid such as oliohydramnios in addition to conditions of stunted fetal growth. Oligohydramnios itself can occur due to the use of certain drugs, problems with the placenta or placenta, leakage in the amniotic sac and problems with the fetus' kidneys.
Consult further with your obstetrician for more information. Physical examination of pregnancy and ultrasound examination are tests that can help. Take care of your pregnancy with
1. avoid strenuous physical activity
2. get enough rest
3. manage stress
4. keep the consumption of balanced nutritional foods and increase the consumption of water
Specific treatment depends on the underlying cause. Hopefully helpful, and thank you. Regards, Dr Alyssa
