Sudden Bruising Of The Child’s Arm?
Good afternoon, my brother’s 2 hands (to be precise on the arms of his two hands) have bruises that suddenly appear. My mother checked, and felt that there were parts that felt hard on the two parts that were bruised.
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com. I am dr. Princess Claudya will help answer your questions.
A bruise is a condition where a blood vessel bursts in which blood leaks out and appears beneath the surface of the skin as red-purple patches that change color over time, and generally disappear on their own. Most cases of bruising are caused by collisions that damage a blood vessel. However, bruising can also be triggered by stress, physical fatigue, age, hormonal influences and a lack of vitamin K intake
Bruises can also be caused by several other diseases related to abnormalities in blood components resulting in blood clotting disorders, for example in dengue fever, Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), hemophilia, DIC, aplastic anemia, blood malignancies such as leukemia.
To ascertain the cause, it is better for your sister to check with a general practitioner first for an immediate examination. It is possible that the doctor will perform supporting examinations such as blood tests to determine the exact cause. And if necessary, your sister will be referred to an internal medicine doctor for follow-up tracking. And when the cause is confirmed, treatment will be given to your sister.
Things that can be done to improve and prevent worsening of the disease are:
Don't put pressure on the bruised area
Cool the bruised area
Drink enough water, about 2 liters / day
Consume nutritious food regularly and sufficiently according to your nutritional and calorie adequacy numbers
Avoid excessive diets
Get enough rest, sleep 7-8 hours per day
Manage stress well
If the bruise is painful, your sister can take over-the-counter drugs such as paracetamol to relieve it
That is the explanation from me. Hopefully helpful and useful :)
