Need to clarify, is the drug that you are currently taking?
Under normal conditions, the heart beats involuntarily without us knowing it. However, there are several conditions that can cause your heartbeat to feel more pronounced, causing a "thumping" sensation as you feel. Some of the possible causes of this condition that are mild are:
Strong emotions, for example when you are anxious, stressed, depressed, or panic excessively Doing physical activity that is quite heavy, including while exercising Consumption of stimulants, for example caffeine, nicotine, or also drugs containing pseudoephedrine (including those often contained in cold cough medicines ) Hormonal changes, in women, for example during menstruation, pregnancy, or menopause Have a fever, for example due to a viral or bacterial infection, etc. If you are taking medication for example to relieve your cold cough, or if you have a fever that appears accompanied by a cough colds, then it could be that your complaint has something to do with the medication that is being consumed or the disease you are currently suffering from.
On rare occasions, a "thumping" sensation as you experience can signal hyperactivity of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), disturbed heart rhythm, panic attacks, substance abuse, or a variety of other causes. These conditions require further medical treatment to resolve them.
Therefore, if your complaint occurs only occasionally, we suggest that you first try to do the following steps to resolve it:
Do not indiscriminately consume cold cough medicine (except on doctor's prescription) Sleep more regularly Do relaxation so that your heart and mind are calmer Eat and drink enough and be disciplined More rest Do not consume excessive caffeine Stay away from cigarettes and illegal drugs If complaints often recur after undergoing the tips above, don't delay to check your complaint directly to a doctor or an internal medicine specialist so that it is given the best treatment.
I hope this helps.
