Sunbathing In The Morning Is Safe For Pregnant Women?
Hello, I’m a 12w pregnant woman. I want to ask what if sunbathing in the morning is recommended for pregnant women? If it is recommended, how long is it to sunbathe? And how many times in the week should you sunbathe? Thank you in advance
Sunlight has benefits for the production of vitamin D by the body. Vitamin D functions in the regulation of calcium and phosphate levels, which are important in the formation and maintenance of bones and teeth. However, sunlight can also cause adverse effects on the body such as sunburn (in the form of burns), dark spots, dehydration (lack of body fluids), heat stroke, skin cancer and so on.
Sunlight between 10 am to 4 pm has very high UV A and UV B intensities, so it is not recommended to sunbathe between these times. Sunbathing in the morning before 10 am, for 5-15 minutes, 2-3x per week can meet a person's vitamin D needs. In pregnant women, of course the need for vitamin D will be higher, therefore it can be helped from food intake (red meat, fish, milk) or vitamin D supplements. Sunbathing during pregnancy has a higher risk for dehydration and the appearance of chloasma on the face.
Always use sunscreen when sunbathing, which can be repeated if you sunbathe longer. Inadequate need for drinking water. Regularly control the condition of your uterus at the midwife or obstetrician.
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
