Surgery For Sinusitis Sufferers?
In the afternoon the doctor wanted to ask my friend sinusitis … and tomorrow I want to have surgery, I have entered the chronic pain suffered by my friend …
Good evening, thanks for the question
Chronic sinusitis is a chronic inflammation of the sinuses around the nose that often occurs. Sinusitis is said to be chronic if symptoms are persistent even though adequate therapy has been given. Generally influenced by factors such as mechanical blockage, history of allergies and asthma, bacterial and fungal inflammation and the presence of pollutants such as cigarettes.
The main symptoms of sinusitis include nasal congestion, thick mucus from the nose or throat, pain in the face and irritating disorders. The accompanying symptoms can be in the form of headaches, fever, bad breath, weakness, toothache, aching or feeling full of ear, and coughing.
Management of chronic sinusitis is by drug treatment (using antibiotics) or by functional endoscopic sinus surgery. Indications for functional endoscopic sinus surgery include complications, recurrent or persistent sinus infections, or there is evidence of a malignancy in the sinus based on the results of investigations. Cure of sinusitis through this method of surgery is quite good and safe.
But about 5-15% of patients who have undergone the procedure can
has a low therapeutic response so it often requires a second sinus operation.
That's all, hope you can help
