Surgical Scars Ache After Dancing?
Hello, this is more than 1 year after I had major surgery on the stomach, the stitches from the navel to the bottom. Lately, I dance 15 minutes of cardio every day, how come my stomach hurts for a long time, especially in the former surgery. Is this dangerous?
Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
In general, recovery of a surgical scar takes about 3-6 months. However, there are several factors that influence it, including the quality of wound care, nutritional intake, adequate rest, and the presence / absence of complications, such as infection, intestinal obstruction, and gastrointestinal obstruction.
Have you been advised by your treating doctor about the need to avoid strenuous physical activity for a while?
Associated with complaints of pain in the area of surgical scars when doing aerobic exercise, including dance / gymnastics, which practice cardiovascular endurance, we recommend that you see a doctor to find out whether the pain is related to the history of surgery. Generally. signs / symptoms that need to be aware of postoperatively in the abdomen that require evaluation by a doctor include:
Surgical scars appear reddish and swollen
Yellowish fluid and / or blood from the surgical wound
Pain in the stomach
Difficulty to defecate angina and defecate
Nausea and vomiting are severe
A return visit to the doctor who treats you is also useful as an effort to control and evaluate your postoperative condition. As a suggestion, you are advised to take the following steps to help reduce pain:
Get enough rest, avoid strenuous activities / excessive
Consumption of balanced nutritious food regularly
Drink plenty of water and consume fiber (fruits and vegetables) to maintain smooth bowel movements
Avoid excessive straining during bowel movements
Manage stress well
Do not delay seeing a doctor if symptoms / signs of postoperative complications occur. Thus information from us. Hopefully always healthy. May be useful.
