Hello, Intan Kembang Bahari. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
Tuberculosis (TB / TB) is a disease caused by infection with the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The most common location for TB bacterial infection is lung, but the infection can also affect almost all organs. Symptoms that usually occur in patients with pulmonary TB are: a long cough (2 weeks or more), a lot of sweating especially at night, weight loss, and old fever that is not too high.
After the diagnosis of pulmonary TB is established by the doctor, the patient must undergo TB treatment in the form of using a combination of anti-TB drugs. This medicine is taken every day regularly for at least 6 months. If this treatment is taken regularly to complete, TB can be cured. There are TB drugs available in the form of removable or fixed dose combination. In the removable dosage form, some medications are recommended to be taken before meals, and some are recommended to be taken after meals. The purpose of this medication time setting is to adjust to the pharmacological profile of the drug, which is that some drugs are more effectively absorbed by the body when the stomach has not been filled with food. If the time to take this medicine is sometimes reversed, there are no significant harmful effects. However, the effectiveness of drug absorption may not be optimal if used according to the recommended time.
We advise you to consult with your doctor if you have problems taking anti-TB drugs. The doctor will simultaneously evaluate the progress of the disease in the treatment of TB. To enrich your horizons, you can read articles about TB. Thus information from us. Hopefully always healthy. May be useful.
