Swelling After Keloid Injection?
Hello, I want to ask, I just injected the keloid and it became swollen … how long does it take? It is swollen? And how can it not be swollen anymore? Thank you
Good evening, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Keloid is a form of skin disorder whose cause is still unknown until now other than heredity. For those who have keloids, when they have a wound, the skin will cover the wound with excessive tissue. So that instead of returning the skin's appearance to the way it was, precisely where the scar appeared long lumps that could be wider than the wound itself.
Handling of keloids varies, can be with surgery, corticosteroid injections, liquid nitrogen therapy, the use of lasers, silicone gel and much more. Regarding your question, if there is swelling, this can take anywhere from a few hours to several days, but it should take no more than 3 days. In the meantime, you can simply compress the area with a warm compress to relieve the swelling. Remember not to scratch or gouge the area.
If after three days the condition has not improved, or before three days have worsened and is very disturbing, immediately return to your dermatologist to follow up on your condition. So, hopefully answering your question.
