Hi Doctor, I have a question. My lower eye has a small swelling in it that looks like a stye. At first it felt a little sore and sore. I had time to compress with cold water, and in the morning with warm water mixed with salt. It’s been getting better too, but why is it hurting again now? What eye medication is right for you? thx.

1 Answer:

Hi Mutia. In general, the condition you are experiencing can be caused by:

1. hordeolum

2. chalazion

The presence of a foreign body in the eye that causes inflammation

4. blepharitis

Consult your doctor about your condition for treatment and further information. Physical examination of the eye, slit lamp, and fundoscopy can help as a starting point for the examination. Specific treatment depends on the underlying cause. Things you can do are warm compresses, avoid rubbing your eyes, wash your hands before touching your eyes. Hopefully helpful, and thank you. Regards, Dr Alyssa
