Swelling In The Neck?
Hello, I want to ask. On my right neck there is swelling. From 5 years ago. I can’t stand the air too hot and the air is too cold. If the air is too hot or cold my neck must be swollen. But after that it disappeared again. Why do you think that? What is lymph node? Thank you
Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
Complaints of swelling in the neck can be caused by several possibilities, which often include:
Enlarged lymph nodes, can be caused by viral / bacterial infections, gland tuberculosis, lymph node tumors, or spread of cancer from other organs
Thyroid enlargement (thyroid), can be caused by a decrease (hypo-) or an increase (hyperthyroid) thyroid hormone levels, or is a malignancy of the thyroid gland
Salivary gland enlargement, can be caused by infection (parotitis) or parotid tumors
Because complaints have been repeated for quite a long time, you are advised to check directly with your doctor or specialist in internal medicine so that evaluation and treatment can be carried out accordingly. The doctor will take an history to obtain more complete clinical information about the history of the disease, a comprehensive physical examination, and may suggest supporting examinations according to the indications found, for example: blood tests and biopsy. At home, you are advised to get enough rest, drink lots of water, and eat a balanced nutritious diet.
