Swelling Of The Legs?
Good evening. My mother is 46 years old. Two months ago, my tuber had symptoms of swelling in my legs suddenly. At first, my mother’s legs were red like bruises from being beaten, but they moved around. Just like a bruise, but it hurts. Over time, my mother’s leg became swollen (only left side) and felt sore. He had gone to the doctor, and was given medicine to relieve the pain and to relieve the swelling. The doctor hasn’t even said what disease hit my mother. The doctor said my mother had to come back for treatment once a week. But until now, doctors have not diagnosed my mother’s disease. According to the doctor, what disease affects my mother? And what and how is it treated? Please help. Thank you:) nGood evening
Hello Cindy, Thank you for the question.
Swelling in the feet can be caused by:
cellulitis, which is a bacterial infection of the skin tissue
deep vein thrombosis
venous insufficiency, namely disorders of the veins
lymphedema, which is a disruption in lymph flow
To find out the cause of your mother's complaint, further examination by a doctor is needed. The cause of your mother's complaint cannot be determined based solely on the explanation through this forum. Please advise your mother to see a specialist in internal medicine. Further questions are needed to better understand your mother's complaint. The doctor also needs to examine your mother's feet and perform other tests such as blood tests, ultrasound, CT scans, and so on. After conducting this examination the doctor will determine the next treatment according to the medical condition experienced by your mother.
Please advise your mother to raise the legs higher, for example by using a pillow under the feet when lying down. This helps to improve blood circulation. Take paracetamol or pain relievers recommended by your doctor.
Hope this information is helpful.
