Swelling Of The Nose And Bleeding After The Impact?
a week ago I had an accident where my nose was bumped until it bled, then there was a swelling on the inside of my nose and my nose felt blocked, then I took pain medication and the swelling felt better, a few days my nose was still sore but I didn’t bleed but I feel strange that the cartilage of my nose when pressed from the left to the right feels soft and can bend / like a fracture and feels pain but if pressed from the opposite it feels hard / like normal and does not hurt, and after a week the cartilage it is swollen, also for a week now I still feel my nose is blocked, which I want to ask Is my nasal cartilage really broken or what?
Hi Vira .. Thank you for the question given.
Strong injury to the nose can result in nasal fracture. Nasal fracture, which is a discontinuity or disturbance in the relationship of the bones in the nose. Symptoms that can be experienced are pain, swelling, appear bent, bleeding from the nose, can interfere with breathing and the ability to smell. If you feel these symptoms, it's a good idea to see an ENT doctor. The doctor will perform a live physical examination and can order X-rays to see if there is a real fracture in your nose. If the fracture is true, then if the complaints are minor and the complaints of swelling and pain disappear within 2 weeks, then there is no need for surgery. Meanwhile, if there is trouble with breathing and the ability to smell, blood comes out continuously, feels very painful, swollen, and looks crooked, surgery is recommended.
Meanwhile, what you can do:
Avoid handling the nose area, especially avoid rubbing or pulling the nose area Keep the nose area clean. Avoid nose injury. Eat nutritious foods and high in protein to speed up the healing process.
