Hello, Chronology I des then accident and my muscle was ripped and sewn inside and out and the seams have been released only swollen due to the impact of the motorcycle is still swollen. The doctor who sewed my wound took a long time to heal if it was swollen. Any suggestions how to reduce the swelling due to collision? I have to use a thrombombop and there’s a cold compress but the process is taking a long time, huh? Thank you 🙏
Swelling of the instep, especially due to injury to the muscles and skin can usually cause inflammation. Inflammation is a process of the body when it has tissue damage that can occur due to injury / infection / immune disorders. Swelling is part of the inflammation process. When calculating the time of foot injury, it has been quite a long time (approximately 1.5 months) but the swelling has not improved, so we need to look at several possibilities such as:
Infection in the area of leg injury has not been resolved properly. Note whether the swelling area is accompanied by pain, redness, and pus appears / smelling fluid. Muscle injury accompanied by bone injury (broken bones / moving bone position) that has not been handled properly. The location of the foot injury (which is the pedestal of motion), your age and your medical condition, can cause a prolonged healing process.
To determine whether the healing process is as expected, do a direct medical examination with a surgeon. The doctor will ask about your complaint, evaluate the condition of the wound and inflammation at the injury site and if additional investigations are needed such as X-ray / CT scan / MRI. The next treatment will be adjusted to your condition.
While undergoing the healing process, try to move the swollen leg area slowly, avoid standing for too long, obeying certain suggestions that the doctor may recommend.
