Swelling Under The Eyelids?
I want to ask, right? I have blepharitis in my right eye and it’s been a few days, I already use my eye, and suddenly my left eye starts to swell, why is that? Does it get blepharitis too ??
Hello Frederik Tandi,
Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelids, can be acute or chronic (chronic). Blepharitis generally affects both eyes (bilateral), so it is still possible in your case that the left eye also has blepharitis.
Symptoms that can be found in blepharitis patients are:
Burning sensation in the eyes
Always watery eyes
Eyelid scaly - like a lot of dandruff and looks oily
Red and swollen eyelids
Blurred vision that can be reduced if flickering
These complaints can be more severe felt in the morning, when I wake up.
Causes and diseases that can cause blepharitis include:
Demodicosis - Demodex mite infestation in eyelashes and eyelids
Rosacea skin disease
Blockage of the oil glands in the eyelid
An allergic reaction to products used in the eyelid area
Dry eye syndrome
The diagnosis of blepharitis can be found from clinical symptoms and physical examination results in the eye. Sampling of scrapings in the eyelid and eyelash areas can be used to determine the cause of blepharitis, especially for chronic cases that do not improve with adequate treatment or recurrent cases.
Blepharitis therapy includes the following points:
Clean the eyelid with yangmild soap (baby shampoo / baby soap that does not hurt the eyes or with special shampoo eyelashes - treatment)
Warm compresses on the eyelids
The use of topical antibiotics that are applied to the eye. Always wash hands with running water + soap before using medication on the eyes.
Provision of anti-inflammatory drugs (relieve inflammation)
Treatment for blepharitis
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
