I’m 4hr who will have a caesarean section, how come now my foot is swollen and it’s not flat? Normal? How many days can you recover like before?

1 Answer:

Hi Nailah,

Swelling in the legs is not a normal condition after caesarean surgery and is more likely to be caused by the following:

Swelling of the feet due to exposure to pregnancy hormones Due to the administration of excessive fluids (intravenous fluids) Swelling due to physical trauma, impaired blood flow or infection Recovery of swelling of your feet can only be determined after the cause of the swelling is confirmed. If the complaint is caused by exposure to pregnancy hormones, the condition will gradually decrease over several days (generally until the puerperium is complete).

If the complaint is caused by excess fluid, the swelling will decrease within a few days. However, if the condition is caused by a certain medical condition, the complaint can worsen so you should check with your doctor who treats you to ascertain the cause of the complaint so that appropriate handling steps can be given.
