Rabies is an infectious disease in the central nervous system that is dangerous because it can cause death. The disease is transmitted through the bite of animals carrying the rabies virus, namely dogs, cats, monkeys and bats.
Symptoms will appear around 4-12 weeks after the bite. Symptoms will be characterized by fever, weakened muscles, tingling and headaches.
There is no treatment that can overcome the viral infection. Treatment after symptoms appear infected only limited to life-supporting treatment. So it is strongly recommended that getting an anti-rabies vaccine or serum immediately after the animal bite is at risk. Generally the vaccine will be given 4 times in a period of 21 days, if you have never gotten it.
We suggest that you consult with your nearest doctor. The doctor will treat you and clean your bite wounds that are currently infected and plan to administer the vaccine if needed.
Meanwhile, you should catch and report your cat so that it can be observed for 14 days after the bite. In the future, be careful of animals that carry wild rabies. If you care for these animals, you should be checked regularly by a veterinarian so you can be vaccinated.
Thus hopefully useful.
