Hello, lastly HB on March 17, my partner on March 18 then took Postinor2 to prevent pregnancy. Then on March 21 he was leucorrhoea. On 25 he said bleeding was a little. After taking Postinor2, my partner took the pill per day until now. I haven’t used Kb pills before. Can the drug prevent pregnancy?
Hello Daniel, thank you for using HealthReplies.com.
Levonorgestrel emergency contraception is a drug used to prevent pregnancy. In order to get the maximum effect, this drug should be used as soon as possible after having sex, no later than 3 days.
Levonorgestrel emergency contraception can cause menstruation to arrive late or sooner the following month. If menstruation is late more than a week after taking this drug, immediately to a general practitioner or to a specialist obstetrics and gynecologist for pregnancy. Levonorgestrel emergency contraception or birth control pills should not be used during pregnancy, because it can cause various pregnancy complications such as ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, and premature births.
If you find the following signs after taking the pill, immediately seek treatment at the nearest health service facility:
Severe pain in the lower abdomen, 3-5 weeks after consuming levonorgestel
Vomiting 2 hours after taking levonorgestrel emergency contraception.
Heavy bleeding from the birth canal
Such information that I can provide, hopefully can help you.
