Take The Drug Omeprazole And Sucrarfate Together Or Intervals Of 1 Hour?
Good afternoon. I want to ask, I suffer from heartburn which is said to be chronic and I have seen a doctor and the doctor prescribes the syrup sucralfate syrup and omeprazole capsules that must be taken before eating how to drink. Is there a gap between taking omeprazole and sucralfate syrup to prevent unwanted side effects because I’m afraid of being mistaken and causing more pain? Please answer. Thank you
Good evening, thanks for the question
Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that works by directly suppressing the production of stomach acid. Omeprazole is best taken on an empty stomach that is before eating. Omeprazole capsules must be taken intact and must not be removed from the shell. While sucralfate is a type of protective drug for gastric mucosa against the irritative nature of excessive stomach acid. Sucralfate is also best consumed on an empty stomach before eating. Both can be combined to protect irritated gastric mucosa and reduce gastric acid production, also facilitate healing of the gastric mucosa. If given both types of these drugs, you should first consume omeprazole 1 hour before meals. Then within 30 minutes of taking omeprazole, you continue to take sucralfate. After that you can fill the stomach with food.
That's all, hope you can help
