Teeth Fell Apart Again After 2 Years Stirrup.?
I was an orthodontic treatment patient from 2014 to 2016. In 2016 I broke my stirrup because it was neat, I was given a retainer, but because the lower retainer was uncomfortable after being used for several months and finally it broke, I didn’t use it anymore. I am too lazy to use the top retainer (I only use about 8 hours per day, and that was only in the first year. Now my lower teeth are falling apart again (the 4 teeth), the upper one starts to move forward and shift, not parallel like when it was loose. want to tidy it up better using permanent stirrup or removable as a retainer? I prefer the upper teeth to stay tidy and not get worse shift
Dental retainer is a device given to stirrup users who have removed stirrup. Retainer serves to maintain the neat position of the teeth so that they no longer shift. Retainer is used at least 3-6 months after stirrup removal. Used minimally during the night's sleep or can be more frequent.
If there is a change back to the composition of the tooth, the use of stirrup can be considered depending on how severe the existing tooth structure abnormalities. Permanent stirrups are generally chosen for heavier tooth structure abnormalities. This stirrup can be tightened and arranged in such a way by the dentist to get the desired dental arrangement. Permanent stirrups require special care in the form of evaluation / control with the dentist regularly, the use of special toothbrushes, and the more frequent effects of pain and thrush. Tidal removable stirring such as retainer is usually intended for abnormalities in the composition of teeth that are mild and difficult to change the position of the tenuous teeth. This stirrup is easier to maintain, but the expected results are usually longer. Some of the latest types of stirrup in which the shape is like a clear retainer but the shape is specially customized regularly adjusting the shape of the tooth that is expected, can provide results tidying teeth that are similar to permanent stirrup. However, this stirrup can only be done by several dentists and the price is more expensive than conventional stirrup.
To get the appropriate treatment, you should check the condition of your teeth with a dentist who specializes in orthodontic abnormalities. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
