Hello, I am 23 years old, recently about a month I like to feel tense in the back of the neck muscles but only on the right side while not on the left, at first it felt achy gt but now it has decreased, it tends to lose its aches but still feels tense, now why? , explanation please. Thank you in advance.
Hi Adrianyumansyah .. Thank you for the question given.
Tension and pain in the back of the neck can be caused by:
Muscle stiffness or pain - caused by overexertion, trauma, or muscle tension in the neck. Migraine Tension type headaches Posture errors in the long run Frequently lifting heavy weights on the neck Some things you can do to reduce complaints are: relax the neck muscles, avoid lifting heavy weights in the neck area, improve posture when lying down and sitting, avoid looking down too long, if you feel very painful you can take paracetamol and compress with a warm towel.
If there is no improvement with these steps, and the pain is still being felt, accompanied by headaches, then it's a good idea to see a doctor. The doctor will perform a direct physical examination and may be followed by X-rays of the neck area or a CT scan. So that the diagnosis can be established and appropriate treatment can be done.
