Testpack Results Are Still Positive After A Miscarriage?
I want to ask, I miscarried at 4 weeks gestation. Bleeding on February 18 – February 21. But after I tested again the results were still positive even though it was almost 2 weeks after the miscarriage. and I have not been in contact with my husband. After the bleeding is complete, I often discharge like vaginal discharge but it is somewhat different and pinkish in color, my stomach and breasts still often ache until now. Is that normal / should I have an ultrasound checkup to find out more? Thanks.
Thank you for the question.
Need to be clarified, the miscarriage that you have experienced has been confirmed by a doctor's examination?
Not all bleeding during pregnancy is caused by miscarriage. Sometimes, women who are pregnant can also experience bleeding like a miscarriage, such as when they have had sexual intercourse, when they have an implantation spot, when they have exhausted excessive physical activity, and so on. Therefore, only by experiencing bleeding during pregnancy, it is not necessarily certain that you have a miscarriage, if you have not done a direct examination by a doctor. If it turns out that you actually did not experience a miscarriage, then your positive testpack results, and your stomach and breasts that are still often painful, can now indicate your pregnancy is still ongoing.
However, if you have already gone to the doctor and declared having a miscarriage, then because of hormones that have not been balanced, it could be that the testpack results are still positive. The pain in your stomach and breasts can also naturally occur due to the influence of this hormone, or also due to other causes, such as muscle cramps, stress, fatigue, viral or bacterial infections, and so on.
To be clear, correct what you say, you should go to see your doctor directly to the doctor or obstetrician to have an ultrasound. That way, of course the doctor can give you the best management according to your condition, whether you need to be given medication, do a curette, or also other therapeutic modalities. As for now, pain in your stomach and breasts can be relieved first with warm compresses, plenty of rest, not having excessive sex, multiply relaxation, and do not carelessly take medication without doctor's advice.
Hope this helps ...
