The Body Is Often Suddenly Limp Like Boneless
Regards. Hello doc. I often experience a sudden feeling of weakness, especially starting from the feet or hands and then spread to the whole body until it feels like the body is really weak like it will collapse, then usually I have to hold my hand tightly so that I can regain my energy. I haven’t felt this complaint for a long time, the last time was the month of Romadhon 2 years ago during the tarowih prayer, during those 30 days I often felt that way. Then, now the dock recurred, for almost one week I had difficulty sleeping because every night I felt a sudden body like no bones. This repeatedly happened overnight, when weakness had spread throughout the body, I would hold on tight, then try to sleep again and over and over like that. usually it will heal itself and I fall asleep, then the next day will not be felt. Is this dangerous dock? Or symptoms of a serious illness?
Hello Alista, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
I will try to help answer.
Body complaints are suddenly limped from the legs then to the hands and the whole body can be caused by Guillain-Barre syndrome. Guillain-Barre syndrome is a disease caused by autoimmune, where antibodies that are supposed to protect the body from foreign objects that enter the body, but instead attack cells in the body itself. This disease occurs because antibodies attack the peripheral nervous system that is responsible for the body's movement system, as a result the body becomes weak.
Initially the symptoms of this disease begin with a tingling sensation, pain in the leg and hand muscles, over time the leg and hand muscles become weak and can not be moved, in severe cases can cause narrowing of the larynx.
To ensure the disease, you need to see a neurologist. Later the doctor will conduct a physical examination related to complaints that are felt, conduct necessary investigations. For now, due to the corona outbreak in Indonesia and if the complaint is not too severe and gets better on its own, you are advised not to do excessive activity and can consume vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) to help reduce these symptoms.
But if the complaint gets worse, the body can not be moved and shortness of breath occurs, then immediately take it to the hospital to get further treatment.
Thus a brief explanation from me, hopefully can help. thanks.
