The Body Still Looks Thin At 32 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
At night, I am 32 weeks pregnant and I have gained 15kg. But there are no changes at all. I still look thin. Is that okay ?? Then, I also want to ask. When yesterday’s ultrasound the fetal weight was 2.1. Is that normal for 32 weeks or something? Thank you 😊
Hello, good morning, Mrs. Siska.
The average weight gain experienced by a mother during her pregnancy is 10-11 kg. However, this also depends on the body mass index / BMI (body weight and height) of the mother. For mothers who tend to be underweight, the recommended weight gain during pregnancy is around 13-18 kg, for mothers with normal weight the suggestion to gain weight is 11-16 kg, for mothers with excess weight the suggestion to gain weight is 7-11 kg, whereas for obese mothers the suggestion to gain weight is 5-9 kg.
By the time of 32 weeks of gestation, the average mother's body weight has gained about 8-9 kg from her pre-pregnancy weight. Regarding what is experienced by you, where there has been an increase in body weight up to 15 kg, then of course this weight gain is more than enough. It is better if you go back to discuss with your doctor about the weight gain you are experiencing, so that it can be related to the results of your BMI examination and the condition of your baby.
Some pregnant women do complain that their body shape looks steady even though they have gained quite a lot of weight. This can happen because the mother looks at herself every day so that she doesn't see any difference in her. Most likely something has changed from him, such as the size of the circumference of the upper arm, the size of the thigh muscles, the cheeks that look fuller than usual, etc. The weight gain experienced by mothers during pregnancy is distributed as follows:
Infants: 3-3.6 kg placenta / placenta: 0.7 kg amniotic fluid: 1 kg breast: 1 kg uterus: 1 kg increase in blood volume: 1.4 to 1.8 kg increase in fluid volume in the body: 1.4 -1.8 kg of fat reserves: 2.7 - 3.6 kg
You don't need to worry too much about this because the most important thing is the health of your baby. Based on your questions, your current estimated fetal weight (32 weeks of age) is 2100 grams. This is still classified as normal, where the average estimated fetal weight at this gestational age is around 1800 to 2100 grams.
Don't forget to stay in control of the midwife or obstetrician (SpOG), considering that you are currently entering the 3rd trimester, it is advisable to carry out checks at least 2 times in this trimester. Maintain your health and food intake.
Wish you good health always.
Greetings, dr. Denisa
