The Cause Of A Runny Nose Is Already 2 Years?
A good afternoon. I have a problem in my nose. Maybe this problem has started 2 years ago but I have never done an examination even once, my nose is runny and it doesn’t stop for 2 years. Once upon a time when I was throwing mucus in my nose and it turned out that it was unusually clear yellow. Is this a disease or a common problem?
Good afternoon, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Nasal discharge can be caused by various things, and with a history of having had it for 2 years, among the possibilities are:
Allergic rhinitis that occurs due to an allergic reaction or excessive body response to certain substances. Chronic sinusitis or inflammation of the head cavity which is often caused by the nasal polyps virus or the growth of tissue on the walls of the nasal respiratory tract
However, you still have to check with an ENT specialist to find out the cause of the condition. What is clear is that after the condition has not gone away for 2 years, it is clear that it is not an ordinary problem. And if it turns out that it is caused by chronic sinusitis, if not treated properly, among the complications is that the infection can spread to the brain and cause meningitis, damage to the entire sense of smell, reduced vision and even blindness. So in our opinion there is nothing wrong with you to check with a doctor, to make sure that there are no dangerous conditions that you are experiencing.
Meanwhile, avoid picking your nose or expelling mucus too hard, if there is something that triggers your mucus such as cold air, dust, animal hair or so on, avoid it as much as possible, consume warm drinks and avoid taking drugs without a doctor's prescription. We wish you and your family good health.
That's all, hope it helps.
