The Cause Of A Sudden Headache Is Prickling?
I want to ask. My head often suddenly hurts a sharp pain like being stabbed?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Pain in the head that feels very intense like being stabbed can occur due to various reasons. In general, the causes of headaches like this can be classified into 2, namely:
Primary headache, occurs due to disturbances in the structures in the head itself, for example:
Secondary headache, occurs as a result of disturbances in other organ systems that have an effect on headache pain, for example:
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Stroke (blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain)
Cerebral aneurysm (bulging of blood vessels in the brain that is abnormal and prone to rupture)
Sinusitis (inflammation of the nasal sinus cavities)
Infections, eg meningitis, typhoid fever, ARI (acute respiratory infection), dengue fever
Psychosomatic disorders, and so on
How old are you now? How long have you had this intense headache? Have you had a previous head injury? Do you also have fever, vomiting, visual problems, seizures, stiff neck, or other complaints? So, is there a history of certain diseases that you have suffered?
If it is true that the pain you feel is very intense, you should not take it lightly. Go directly to your doctor or neurologist so you can identify the exact cause of the pain, along with the best treatment to treat it. In cases that are suspected of being severe, doctors generally do not only perform regular physical and neurological examinations, but will also recommend that you undergo other supporting examinations, such as x-rays, CT scans, MRI, laboratory, and so on.
As a first step, you can first relieve your pain by taking pain relievers that are widely available in the market, for example paracetamol. Avoid consumption of any pain relievers that are not included in the class of over-the-counter drugs, without a prescription from a doctor. Increase your rest time, avoid sleeping late at night. Manage your stress wisely, and do lots of relaxation. Get used to eat regularly, exercise regularly, and stay away from alcohol and smoking habits.
Hope it helps ..
