1 Answer:

Hello Dailah,

Body temperature in babies is relatively easily influenced by the environment. The normal temperature of the baby's body must be maintained between 36.5-37.5 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is above 38 degrees Celsius (measured by a thermometer), the baby is said to be febrile (fever). Fever is a response of the body's immunity especially if there is an infection.

When a baby has a fever, some of the things below you can do to help relieve the fever:

Baby warm body compresses, can be on the forehead, near the armpits. Then periodically evaluate the baby's temperature with a thermometer. Warm compresses will help dilate blood vessels under the skin, so that heat in the body is more easily delivered out.
When the baby has a fever, do not cover the baby with a thick blanket in layers. Wear thin clothes. Set the baby's bedroom temperature remains cool. Ambient temperature that is too hot can also cause the baby's body temperature to rise. Blankets can be used again when the baby's temperature has returned to normal.
Give ASI more often, at least 2 hours.
Fever-lowering drugs (paracetamol) are only given if necessary and the dose is adjusted by body weight.

Blushing cheeks are common when someone has a fever. Fever in infants most often occurs in respiratory infections due to viruses. Usually accompanied by other complaints such as nasal congestion, sneezing, nasal discharge, coughing. Fever can go down by itself after 5-7 days. Fever in infants <6 months should be aware, if accompanied by the following things:

Bulging fontanel
Convulsions
Looks inactive, does not want to suckle
Rapid breathing + shortness of breath
Not BAK at all
Continuous diarrhea
Rashes appear all over the body

In such conditions quickly bring the child to be examined by a doctor.

* In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, observe the precautionary measures that need to be taken if henda travels outside the house or to a health facility.

Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
