Hello Nelly Cllary,
Thank you for the question.
Pain in the feet can be caused by many things, one of which is gout. Excessive production of uric acid will produce crystals that will cause pain in the legs, especially in the big toe, which is referred to as gout arthritis. In addition, there are other possibilities of pain in the feet, namely rheumatoid arthiritis, or osteoarthritis, or pinched nerves, namely tarsal tunnel syndrome.
Here are the things you can do to improve your leg pain due to gout:
Avoid foods that contain lots of uric acid, such as spinach, chips, jackfruit, organ meats, and foods that contain lots of fat such as fried foods. Avoid smoking and alcoholic drinks. Drink plenty of water, at least 2-3L per day to reduce the concentration of uric acid in the blood. Use shoes with soft pads and avoid activities that have to use continuous feet (such as running, etc.). In addition, your father should consult regularly with a specialist in internal medicine for further treatment such as gout-lowering drugs (xantin-oxidase inhibitors) or pain relievers such as paracetamol or NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ). You can also consult a doctor for ongoing management of vertigo, such as antivertigo treatment, and exercises to reduce vertigo at home, such as by not changing the position of sleeping-sitting-standing suddenly.
Hopefully this information helps and hopefully your father's health continues to improve gradually :)
