The Cause Of Itching In The Calf?
Hello, my friend, a 20-year-old woman, when exposed to rain from the upper part of the ankle to the calf, there are always some red spots with a size of approximately half a ball of marbles and itching. Usually, a new Chinese oil is applied and the pama disappears. But still when exposed to rain again appears. Please explain so that the complaint can be cured.
The bumps that appear immediately after exposure to water, including rainwater can be caused due to abnormalities in the form of aquagenic urticaria. Aquagenic urticaria arises due to excessive body immunity reaction (hypersensitivity) which can cause symptoms of inflammation of the skin, in the form of red bumps with itching or burning heat.
Apart from rain water, urticaria in patients can also arise due to exposure to other water such as sweat. The diagnosis of aquagenic urticaria can be done with an allergy test, by giving contact / exposure to rain / other water on the skin and observing the reactions that arise. Urticaria can occur within <15 minutes of exposure.
Aquagenic urticaria treatment is as much as possible to avoid skin exposure to the type of water that causes complaints and also with the administration of antihistamines to reduce itching and bumps. This urticaria condition can also disappear spontaneously after there is no exposure to water. There is no specific treatment that can be given to prevent recurrence of one hundred percent.
Apart from the cause of aquagenic urticaria, there are still many other causes that can cause complaints of bumps and itching in the calf area (lower limbs), such as parasitic infections, insect bites, prurigo, bacterial infections, and so forth. It is better to do a direct examination at the doctor to determine the right diagnosis and the appropriate treatment. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
