The Cause Of Not Drinking Excessive Water In People With Heart Valve Disease?
I want to ask about heart valve disease. Why are you not allowed to drink lots of water and have an impact on your stomach to become big
Hello Mega Jesika,
The heart is the organ that keeps blood flowing throughout the body, like a pump. In performing its function, the heart has 4 valves and 4 chambers that work simultaneously. If there is damage to the heart valves, the heart cannot perform its function properly to pump blood. The valve may not close completely so that the blood returns to the previous room (regurgitation / leaking), or the blood cannot flow properly to the next room / section because the valve does not open properly (stenosis) so that blood will accumulate in a certain part. Over time, the heart will work harder and there is weakness in pumping.
Excessive fluid intake can increase the burden on the heart, because the volume that is flowed must be more and more. This fluid restriction is not the same for everyone, but patients with heart failure are generally limited to 1.5 liters to 2 liters per day. Limiting salt intake can also help reduce fluid retention and ease the work of the heart.
