Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
Physiologically, every month the ovaries in women release eggs to the uterus. At the same time, the uterine wall thickens in preparation for the attachment of fertilization. When on the way to the uterus the egg is not fertilized by sperm, the uterine wall becomes decayed and comes out in the form of blood and damaged cells through the vagina. This process is called menstruation.
How old are you? If you are still a teenager and have just had your first few months of menstruation, your body may still be in the process of normal adaptation so that the distance between menstrual cycles can be lengthened or shortened and irregular. Menstrual cycles will begin to settle and become more regular with age.
If you are no longer a teenager, it is possible that the symptoms experienced are a form of menstrual disorders. There are several possible forms of menstrual disorders with characteristics as you complain, including:
Metroragia, namely menstrual bleeding with irregular intervals
Menometroragia, namely increased volume / duration of menstrual bleeding and irregular distance between menstruation
Hypermenorrhoea / menorrhagia, ie menstrual bleeding with increased volume (> 80 mL of blood) and / or length of duration (more than 7 days), but with normal inter-menstrual intervals
There are several possible causes of menstrual disorders, including:
Problems with the reproductive organs (uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes / tubes, ovaries)
Other factors outside the reproductive system (hormonal disorders, drug side effects, blood clotting disorders, stress)
So that your complaints can be evaluated and handled appropriately, you are advised to check directly with a specialist obstetric and gynecologist. In addition to the history and investigations, the doctor may carry out investigations according to the indications found, for example: ultrasonography (USG), blood tests, or CT-scan. Prognosis regarding possible dangers need to consider the disease / condition that underlies the symptoms. In general, excessive bleeding risks causing shock so it cannot be ignored.
As a suggestion, you can do the following simple steps:
Keep your weight within the normal range
Eat balanced nutritious food regularly
Exercise physically or exercise regularly
