The Cause Of The Hand Feels Itchy After Using An Aloe Vera Mask
Hello doc. I want to ask. Recently I have aloe and started trying to use it regularly. After 3 times I made a mask. The first use is fine. When the second and third itchiness appeared on my hand but my face felt fine instead it felt soft. Should I stop using it before it’s too late?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Itching on the hands as you experience them is indeed possible due to aloe vera allergy. However, facial skin is generally more sensitive than hand skin. If you use aloe vera on your face as a mask (where the aloe vera must be left for some time on your face) and your face is fine, while your hands that are used for smearing (only exposed for a moment when applying and after being washed) experience itching - itching, the possibility of itching on your hands is not caused by an allergy to aloe vera. You need to re-analyze the possibility of other causes of itching on your hands, for example contact with other ingredients (hand washing soap that is too hard, detergent, dish washing soap), dry hands due to too often washing hands or using alcohol, dermatitis atopic, dishidrotic dermatitis, psoriasis, etc.
You can try wearing gloves when preparing your aloe vera mask (sometimes the sap from aloe can cause itching on your hands, not the inside of the aloe). See again if the itching on your hands is reduced. If it still itches, you can try to stop using the aloe altogether and re-examine whether your hands are still experiencing itching or not. If your hands do not experience itching anymore, then maybe your itch is indeed caused by an allergy to aloe vera, you should not use it again. If the itching is still present, then you need to look for other possible causes of itching on your hands. You can try the following:
Try to always wear gloves when you come into contact with harsh materials (such as when you wash clothes or do the dishes)
Use a hand moisturizer after you wash your hands
Use gentle hand washing soap and does not irritate the skin.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
