The Cause Of The Knee Cannot Be Straightened?
I have an abnormality in my knee that is my knee can’t be straightened like a person with normal knee. When it’s straightened it doesn’t hurt, but it can’t be completely straight maybe it’s only 70-80% straight, my parents say this is due to my habits when I was a child. Hello, thanks for the question.
The knee is a part of the body that plays a role in many activities and gestures, and supports one's weight. This causes the knee joint prone to injury. Knee joints that cannot be straightened completely can be caused by several things for example because there is a history of trauma or injury to the knee in the past that is not handled properly so that healing is not perfect, this can cause the formation of callus or new tissue that is not normal or cause abnormalities in the knee, cartilage, ligament and tendon structures. In addition, it can also be caused due to injury to the knee, which is a layer of cartilage that serves to protect and stabilize the knee joints, or as a result of calcification of the joints (osteoarthiris). Abnormalities in the knee will increase the risk in people with strenuous physical activity, often bend the knees or squat for too long, old age, and excess body weight. If the complaint is disturbing, we suggest consulting the bone surgeon (orthopedic) for a question and answer regarding complaints and a thorough examination including physical examination and additional examinations such as x-rays, laboratory examinations, etc. as needed to help establish the diagnosis of the disease experienced. Handling will be adjusted to clinical conditions that occur, can be with medication alone, physiotherapy, to surgical procedures. If the complaint is accompanied by pain, swelling, and red, you should rest your joints, raise the problematic knee joint, cool the compost, and do the dressing with elastic bandages if needed. It's best to avoid activities that overload your knees and keep a healthy lifestyle.
Thus, hopefully it helps.
