The Cause Of The Stomach Feels Queasy And Twisted After Drinking Milk Before Going To Sleep
Hello doc, lately I have indigestion, but after that began to improve. Then I tried to drink warm milk before going to sleep, but why after drinking the milk my stomach hurts like a heartburn, even though I usually drink warm milk before I go to sleep.
Thank you for the question.
In some people, the consumption of milk is too close to bedtime can indeed cause stomach upset, sore, nausea, pain, twisting, bloating, and feeling uncomfortable. This condition can not only occur due to the influence of milk, but can also be due to lactose intolerance, malabsorption, gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammation of the intestine, gastroenteritis, intestinal obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome, even poisoning. It could also be, heartburn that you feel in your stomach actually arises because of disorders in other organ systems, such as pre menstrual syndrome, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammation, muscle cramps, psychological disorders, and so on.
To improve and no longer repeat, you can do first:
A warm compress to your heartburn
If you want to drink milk, make sure it is not excessive, not on an empty stomach, and also not too close to bedtime
If necessary, choose the type of milk that contains low lactose
Drink more water and eat also foods that are easily digested, do not contain much gas, fat, spicy, and other substances that irritate the digestive tract
Only eat clean and perfectly cooked food
Not too many thoughts
Discipline of exercise
If with the above efforts your complaints have improved, staying at home seems a lot safer for you. Postpone seeing a doctor so that your risk of contracting COVID-19 can be lower.
Conversely, if diarrhea or vomiting appears to be massive, high fever, severe stomach cramps, or other severe complaints, you are advised to check up directly to the doctor or doctor of internal medicine so that appropriate treatment is given.
I hope this helps.
