Hello, Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Injuries that occur to the chest wall can cause several health problems depending on how strong the injury is to a person. A kick in the chest can cause injury to the bones and muscles of the chest wall. This complaint can cause chest pain. The breathing process is supported by the movement of the ribs and respiratory muscles (including the muscles between the ribs). If you experience pain in the chest area, the body can react by breathing less than the maximum to prevent further pain so that you feel that breathing is not optimal. In addition, if the strength of this injury is very strong, this can lead to fractures, free air in the pleural cavity (pneumothorax), blood in the pleural cavity (hemothorax), or bruises in the lung tissue. Usually in the more serious problems mentioned above, sufferers will experience severe chest pain, shortness of breath, pale, blue lips, or coughing up blood.
You can compress ice on the affected chest for the first 3 days after the injury. Apply this ice pack several times a day. You can also take paracetamol to relieve chest pain. Keep trying to inhale slowly. Avoid excessive physical activity for a while. If the pain complaint is unbearable or does not improve at all after 1 week, or is accompanied by shortness of breath, pale, coughing up blood, please immediately consult a doctor for further examination and treatment.
Hopefully this information is useful.
