The Child Has A Cold Cough But No Fever?
my 7 year old son is currently experiencing a cold cough for 4 days but has no fever .. I have given him a cold cough syrup 2 days ago 2 days I gave syrup for immunity .. Is it covid19
Thank you for the question.
Covid-19 is a disease caused by coronavirus infection, which has symptoms such as fever (temperatures above 37.5 degrees Celsius and is the most common symptom) and cold cough, and also shortness of breath in some cases that resemble pneumonia. These symptoms are very similar to upper respiratory infections such as common cold and influenza which are usually caused by viral infections (different viruses) and can heal on their own in less than 1 week without requiring special treatment. Likewise with covid-19, which if it occurs at a young age, including children, relatively does not experience worsening, so you do not need to panic.
In addition, what is more important than covid-19 is a history of traveling or contact with people who have traveled to foreign or domestic areas affected with this disease, as well as direct contact with people who are positive covid-19 in the last 14 days. If your child has symptoms of fever and cough colds that resemble covid-19 symptoms, you can take the child to the nearest doctor or contact the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health's hotline service at number 119 extension 9 for further instructions. The doctor will conduct a history of complaints, physical examinations, and supporting investigations if needed, and based on the doctor's conclusions and severity of symptoms, the doctor will suggest actions that are appropriate for your child's condition.
The following are tips that can be done as a form of co-19 prevention:
Wash your hands regularly and correctly with water and soap or sanitizer. Avoid touching the face with hands. Clean the furniture that is often used and the environment. Avoid going out and going to crowded places. Avoid direct contact with others or social distancing. Before playing with children, parents must wash their hands first. Maintaining immunity, can by taking immune supplements. Drink at least 2 liters of water per day. In addition, you can read this article to relieve symptoms of cough and colds in children.
Hopefully this information can help and hopefully your child gets better soon.
