ENT or general practitioner? Please help, thanks
Good evening, thanks for the question
Boils in the nose or called boils are infections of the sebaceous glands or nasal hair follicles which involve tissue under the surface of the skin. Usually caused by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. Furuncles generally occur most often in children, adolescents to young adults.
Complaints are ulcers in the nose, accompanied by pain and discomfort. If boils rupture can cause a wet wound and pus. Sometimes cold symptoms can be accompanied.
Risk factors for nasal boils include:
1. Low socioeconomic
2. Poor personal hygiene
3. Chronic rhinitis
4. The habit of scraping the inside of the nose
Diagnosis based on symptoms and examination of the inside of the nose by a doctor.
Treatment is in the form of oral or topical antibiotics according to clinical conditions. In addition, warm compresses and incisions can be made if touched ulcers are getting bigger.
To reduce the severity and prevent recurrence, children need to avoid the habit of scraping the inside of the nose, not squeezing or making incisions in the boil, controlling the condition of chronic rhinitis if present, and always maintaining personal hygiene. Mothers can check the child's condition either to a general practitioner or an ENT specialist doctor so that it can be handled optimally.
That's all, hope you can help
