The Danger Of Having Sex After Treatment Of Bartholin Cysts?
, want to ask. r nI’m pregnant 27-28 weeks of age, have experienced left and right Bartgolin cysts. It’s been treatment for 2 weeks, is it dangerous to have a husband and wife after cyst treatment.
Hello Art Apriliyanti,
Bartolin cyst is a cyst caused by a blockage of the Bartolin gland located on the left and right vaginal lips. The Bartolin gland functions to release lubricating fluid during sexual intercourse. Factors causing the glandular blockage are infections. The most common infection is a sexually transmitted infection due to Neisseria gonorrhae, Chlamydia trachomatis, etc. Other bacterial infections such as Eschericia coli, Haemophillus influenza, etc. can also cause blockages.
Symptoms experienced by Bartolin cysts are the appearance of a lump on the vaginal lips, if infected with a lump it will quickly enlarge, followed by pain when touched when sitting, walking, sexual intercourse, discharge of pus, and fever. Handling of Bartolin cysts includes administration of medicines such as antibiotics and pain relief; and removal of cysts. If the cyst has been removed and the blockage has been treated you can have sexual intercourse again. If it has not healed, by having sexual intercourse Bartolin cysts will get bigger because it produces a lubricating fluid but cannot come out because there is a blockage. The husband should also be examined by a doctor for screening for sexually transmitted infections to be treated equally and no longer infect each other with you.
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
