The Distance To Do An X-ray Examination Again?
I am Nadhifah, age 19. I have already done an X-ray, is there the best time / standard time to do an X-ray again? Please explain, Thank you 😊
Hello Nadhifah, Thank you for the question.
X-rays are one of the investigations that doctors use to help make a diagnosis. X-rays use x-ray directed to the body which then produces a picture of the structure of organs in the body. The use of x-rays causes the body to be exposed to radiation, the amount of which depends on what tests are done, for example dental x-rays will be different from chest X-rays. The radiation produced from these X-rays is very small and not significant to cause certain diseases. However, the risk of radiation in general will be greater if done on children and it is therefore, pregnant women who undergo X-rays are advised to notify their pregnancy to the officer so that officers can wear a lead apron (protective) to reduce the risk to the fetus.
Thus, there is no specific guidance regarding the safe time to take an x-ray again because in general the risk of radiation caused by this examination is very small. However, you are still encouraged to undergo the examination as directed by a doctor to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.
Hope this information helps.
