The Dominant Factor In The Spread Of Corona Virus
Doc permission to ask, what is the most dominant factor in the spread of this corona virus doc? What is interaction? Or the environment? What is the reason? Thank you Doc 🙏
Hello Elda Nurgina,
Covid-19 (corona virus disease) is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, the newest strain of corona virus. A virus is a microorganism that is only capable of replicating when inside the cells of other living things / host / host. Outside the host cell, the virus will quickly die.
Transmission or transmission of SARS-CoV-2 that has been proven today is through:
Respiratory droplets (respiratory tract) that come out when people cough and sneeze. The virus contained in a droplet can infect others, if the droplet is in direct contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. Droplets cannot "fly" far in the air, only about 1-2 meters, then they will fall and stick to the surface of objects.
Viruses from droplets that stick to the surface of objects can survive for several hours. If the hand touches the surface of the object, then not washed directly holding the mucous membrane of the nose, mouth, eyes, viruses can enter and infect the body. Based on clinical trials found the results of the virus can last for 3 hours in the air, 4 hours on the copper surface, 24 hours on the surface of the cardboard, 72 hours on several other surface materials. However, there are different half-lives which means that after a few hours, the number of viruses will be reduced by half and therefore the infection ability will be reduced.
Why is it easy to spread? The reasons include:
Improper cough ethics, coughing carelessly, throwing sputum carelessly. Prevention: use a mask, cough using a tissue and then quickly throw it into the trash and wash your hands, cough using your inner arm because if you cough cover with your hands, chances are the hand will touch a lot objects and facilitate transmission.
Swarm. In the midst of the crowd at close range, surely we do not know who is sick who is not. You can breathe someone's cough droplet. Prevention: stay home for the time being, obey the calls given by the government, physical distancing, not crowding or holding events that invite people, isolate yourself (separate rooms) if you are sick so as not to infecting other family members
The community has not yet implemented a clean and healthy lifestyle. Not routinely washing hands, hands that have touched contaminated objects then rubbed the nose or greeting other people who will then continue to move, so that the spread is fast. Prevention: wash hands regularly with running water and soap or alcohol-based hand washing , apply clean and healthy life behaviors (eat nutritious food, get enough sleep, take a bath at least 2 times a day, change clothes and wash regularly, etc.)
People who are asymptomatic / asymptomatic continue to leave the house and infect others
Prevention: sick or not sick obey the advice for independent isolation for a specified time limit, do not leave the house if there is nothing important or emergency. If your livelihood requires you to leave the house, obey the precautionary measures and limit the transmission of Covid-19.
Massive contact tracing and massive rapid tests are actions the government is currently taking to find these patients.
Environment or houses with poor sanitation, rarely cleaned.
Please read other information about Covid-19 on trusted sites from WHO, CDC, or the Indonesian Ministry of Health website specifically Covid-19. Do not easily believe the hoaxes circulating about how to turn off viruses and so on. Until now researchers are still studying the stability of this virus at various temperatures, humidity, and also surfaces of objects.
Call the 119 ext 9 or 112 hotline or the covid-19 hotline provided by the local government if you have a fever (> 38 degrees Celsius), one of the respiratory symptoms and a history of contact with a positive / suspected sufferer of Covid-19 or domiciled / traveling to the local transmission area (especially the red zone) in the past 14 days.
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
