The Ear Still Hurts After Cleaning The Ears At The Doctor?
Hello, good afternoon. I bams, I want to ask. Last week I had ears full of dirt, hearing loss, but it did not hurt, I treated with diapotik buy drops, then I recovered and was able to hear a lapse 2 days later, suddenly the outer ear hurts and cannot make food. I decided to the ENT specialist doctor there, the doctor said that my ears were only to plug the dirt very much then my ears were cleaned with a hose and washed in cool water. But after cleaning it still feels painful and now sometimes there is fluid coming out of the ear. The problem is that the doctor did not give any medicine, I asked the doctor instead to say “do not need medicine later also disappear pain itself” conclusion after I did ear cleaning at ENT doctor why does it still hurt and release fluid? And what is the right medicine if I buy it at the pharmacy, more drops or pills and what is the name of the medicine? Thank you, I really hope for a reply from the doctor.
Good morning, thanks for the question
Ear irrigation in the accumulated cerumen condition aims to drain out the obstruction of the cerumen which results in hearing loss and some other complaints. Normally it is produced cerumen in the ear canal rather outside as a body's defense mechanism. But if the production is excessive, it can accumulate to harden in the ear canal so it needs to be cleaned by an ENT doctor. The hardened cerumen mass can then press on the walls of the ear canal around it, causing complaints of pain in the ear.
Ear irrigation is a safe action as long as the eardrum is still intact. The pain that is felt is likely due to a little inflammation due to suppression of the ear mass in the ear canal. In addition, there is still a small amount of fluid coming out of the ear canal because it is indeed residual irrigation fluid because the amount of liquid that is inserted is not small to be able to push out the blockage.
Pain complaints can be treated by taking simple analgesics such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. However, if the complaint persists for a long time, you should consult again with the ENT specialist to be evaluated.
That's all, hope you can help.
