The Effect That Occurs When A 7 Month Old Baby Is Forced To Sit?
My son is 7 months old, weighs 7.3kg. Can already move actively from a lying position to prone and vice versa. I can raise my head. This I started to stimulate my child to sit up. One day a neighbor said that my child was still unable to sit up. If “forced” later you can bend over. what I want to ask, is what my neighbor said is true or not? Please enlighten, doctor. Thanks.
Hello Ibuatha, Thank you for your question on HealthReplies.com
What your neighbor said is not true. The development of each child is different, generally at 7 months of age, babies should be able to sit on their own, starting at the age of 3 - 4 months, they can lift their heads up, but cannot sit alone, but you can sit on them by supporting them. Rinse is often practiced so your baby will be more skilled to finally be able to sit alone without being supported.
If at the age of 9 months your baby is still not able to sit alone, and you feel very worried, it is best if you consult a pediatrician, so that your child will be examined and get further treatment.
Some of the things you can do are
Continue to train your child to puncture by watching your baby holder, while being propped up by your hands or an object such as a pillow Give a toy in front of him so that he is more excited to sit, or not bored Thank you, hope this is useful. Dr. Nurmarwiyah
