The Eyes Feel Distant When Lying Down In A Child Aged 6 Years And 5 Months?
hello doctor .. I want to ask .. my child (age 6,5 years) 10 days ago had a fever, and conjunctivitis in the left eye .. was taken to the midwife given antibiotics and the redness disappeared .. but the little one suddenly complained about the left eye sight away .. then I took it to an eye specialist..just given Tarivid eye drops .. until now I still often complain that her left eye makes you feel distant, especially when lying down .. why is that?
Hello Nazrielexta, Thank you for your question on HealthReplies.com
Nearsightedness or what is called myopia is a condition in the eye seeing the object close by, clearly visible, but if the object is far away it looks blurry. Symptoms of nearsightedness are blurred vision when looking at objects, eye pain, headache, frequent rubbing of the eyes. The cause of nearsightedness is genetic, often reading at close range, watching television at close range, too often in front of the computer. However, your child's other symptoms may include:
Nearsightedness, which is a condition where the eyes see objects that are far away clearly visible but close objects look faint
Astigmatism, is an eye condition caused by curvature of the cornea or an uneven lens
Night blindness, is a condition when the eye sees blurry when the lighting is dark or blurry
Conjunctivitis, is an inflammation of the thin membrane that lines the eyeball and inner eyelid
Galucoma, an eye disorder due to increased eye fluid
We recommend that you have your child's eyes checked by an ophthalmologist, so that your child's eyes will be examined so that they will get treatment according to the cause.
Some of the things you can do are
Avoid rubbing your child's eyes
Avoid using any eye drops or ointments other than a doctor's prescription
Thank you, hope it is useful. Dr. Nurmarwiyah
