The Festering Wound Does Not Dry Up?
Hello, I want to ask … I had a motorcycle accident and suffered a wound..but my wound has not improved for 2 weeks +, and the wound is festering, how can the pus dry out quickly … thanks
Hello Albert, thanks for asking.
Injuries from blunt trauma can be of various types. The wound can be a mild scratch, until the wound is quite heavy. Of course there is always a risk for every wound, even if only mild. The best course of action is actually immediately after an injury, wash the wound with running water until it is completely clean of foreign objects such as sand, earth or rocks. After that, cover the wound with clean gauze. If necessary, apply antiseptic solution before covering it with gauze.
We do not know the current condition of your wound, where it is, how severe it is. For example, the wound is in the skin fold area of the body, then generally the wound is more difficult to heal. Or if the wound is often exposed to dirt, it certainly becomes easily infected.
You should consult with your doctor directly. The doctor needs to assess whether there is a widespread secondary infection around the wound. The doctor will clean the wound properly, properly remove dead skin tissue, remove pus, and provide appropriate therapy. After that, most doctors will teach you how to treat wounds at home. If you smoke or consume alcohol regularly, you should avoid both of these because both can inhibit tissue regeneration.
Thus my brief explanation, hopefully helps. Regards.
