The Impact Of Taking TB Medicine Is A Day Ahead Of The Schedule It Should Be?
, I am a woman aged 24 years. I am a TB patient and undergoing late advanced OAT treatment. My TB medication schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Today I forgot, the medicine I should have taken on Friday, I took it on Thursday. Is it okay huh? Will it affect my TB treatment which is already in its final stages? Thank you.
Anti Tuberculosis Drugs or OAT itself which is a fixed combination drug consists of 2 parts, namely the initial phase drug (red color) which is taken every day and the advanced phase drug (yellow/orange color). The initial phase of the drug itself is taken every day while the advanced phase medication is taken 3 times a week. If you miss a medication or take your medication too soon, you can continue to take your next medication (Friday's medication) as scheduled.
If you forget, for example, if you don't take your medicine on Monday, take it immediately when you remember whether it's Monday afternoon, evening or Tuesday, and continue to take your medicine for Wednesday and Friday according to schedule. Try to make reminders either in the form of notes or using your cellphone so that the schedule for taking medication is right as recommended and not missed or taken too soon so that treatment can take place properly and can provide healing.
Hope it is useful,
