Hi ellynoktaviani,
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
There is very limited medical research examining the side effects of ingesting apple cider vinegar into the eyes. However, in general, the entry of acidic fluids (for example vinegar) into the eyes can cause irritation to the eyes. This irritation can be mild or severe depending on the amount of fluid that is entering and your body's response to the entry of the fluid. The parts of the eye that experience irritation also vary, from the conjunctiva (conjunctivitis), cornea (keratitis), uvea tract, to the deeper part of the eyeball.
Some signs of eye irritation that need to be watched out for are red, watery eyes, abnormal secretions (belekan), itching, burning, sometimes even swelling and visual disturbances (blurry).
Are any of the above signs of irritation that you experience? How much apple cider vinegar toner gets into your eyes?
It is recommended that you take the following initial steps to prevent deeper damage to the eye structures:
Don't rub your eyes too much
Wash your eyes, namely by flushing or soaking them in sterile water (for example aquabides or intravenous fluids)
If there are secretions coming out of the eyes, clean them with a clean, unscented tissue
Whenever possible, apply artificial tears to your eyes using artificial tears to irrigate incoming fluids
If you experience the symptoms of eye irritation as mentioned above, you should see a doctor or ophthalmologist directly for further examination and treatment.
I hope this helps.
