The Palms Are Itchy, Dry, Scaly, Rough And Calloused?
Good afternoon. I want to ask . Already 8 months I often wash the former chillies. And Lately my palm skin has become dry, besisic, rough, itchy, calloused … Please advise. Thank you
Long-term and repeated exposure to floor cleaning chemicals can cause irritation to the skin and cause abnormalities in the form of contact dermatitis. Symptoms appear locally only on the part that is exposed to the material. The symptoms are as follows:
Red itchy rash. Itchy skin. The palms appear swollen. The skin is scaly or thick. The skin is cracked. These complaints will make the patient scratch the palm of the hand which can cause injury and increase the risk of secondary infection. Signs of secondary infection can be in the form of sores on the palms that produce pus, pain in the palm of the hand, accompanied by fever. The diagnosis of contact dermatitis is through history taking (interviews about the history of the disease) and physical examination. By examination the doctor must distinguish contact dermatitis from other diseases such as psoriasis, genetic diseases, autoimmune disorders, bacterial or fungal infections, which can also provide similar clinical symptoms.
The main principle of handling contact dermatitis is to avoid exposure to substances that cause abnormalities, for example by using gloves. Avoid scratching your palm. Use skin moisturizer to avoid dry skin (which further increases itching). If the itching does not decrease can do a cold compress in the area or go to the doctor to get prescription itch-reducing drugs. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
