, when I was a child I had both ears pierced. When I was 13 years old I removed my earrings until now I am 20 years old, lately there has been a clear discharge from my right ear piercing. There was also one time when I was 15 years old and 17 years old but it went away on its own. Is it dangerous or not?

1 Answer:

Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Clear fluid that comes out of the former piercing, or from any scars, is closely related to infection, although it can also be caused by other things. The clear fluid, if not accompanied by swelling, redness, pain or fever, will generally get better on its own.

But to be more certain, because this incident has also been repeated, our advice is that you have your ears checked by an ENT specialist. So if more serious treatment is needed, your ENT doctor will know. Meanwhile avoid getting water in your earlobe, and avoid wearing earrings at least until your doctor has examined you. I hope you and your family are always healthy.

That's all, hope it helps.
