The Possibility Of A 15 Week Old Fetus Entangled In The Umbilical Cord?
This morning, I am pregnant with my third child at 15w4d. Yesterday I had an ultrasound because I felt the fetal movement suddenly disappeared/didn’t feel at all and I often felt pain in my lower abdomen. for the complaint, I was given vitamins and boosters. ultrasound results of a healthy fetus weighing 150gr are actively moving but the doctor said there was an amniotic band in the sac. I forgot to ask whether the band had wrapped around the fetus or not but the doctor said it was easy for the fetus to not get entangled. Frankly I was panicking and worried about the future growth of the fetus, is the possibility always ended badly or was there anyone who was not affected at all? I read that one of the causes was the lack of amniotic fluid. To increase amniotic fluid naturally (without infusion/injection) how do you do it? Please enlighten me because I am really worried. Thank you in advance
Good evening, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. With a gestational age of 15 weeks, and a fetal weight of 150 grams, chances are that the baby will not be entangled by the umbilical cord or placenta because there is still plenty of room to move, although this possibility should certainly be clarified again with your obstetrician because he or she will do this. ultrasound on you.
So in your case, there is no need to panic and worry first. Besides increasing amniotic fluid, it is not a natural thing for pregnant women to do, if your amniotic fluid is lacking, or what is known as oligohydramnios, your obstetrician will know through the ultrasound that you have undergone. Ultrasound can assess whether your amniotic fluid is too much (polyhydramnion), normal, not enough, or not at all (ahydramnion). If there is a trend in that direction, your doctor will definitely tell you.
But we also understand your concerns. So if your doctor is not clear or seems 'hanging' in giving an explanation, you have the right to keep asking questions until you understand. Your doctor has no right to protest because it is your right as a patient to receive an explanation of your condition. So actually we recommend you to consult and discuss again with your doctor at the next pregnancy control about everything you are worried about. Hope your pregnancy and delivery goes well.
So, hopefully useful.
