The Possibility Of Having A Normal Delivery When The Fetus Weighs Less?
Morning .. I’m okti I’m 22 years old. I am currently 37week pregnant. When my baby’s ultrasound was 3.2kg, the midwife said the possibility of the baby could be bigger. My question is, can I still give birth normally? Then, is having intimate relationship with your husband during pregnancy without the risk of contractions too early? Or is it permissible to have a contraction effect? Please answer yes, thank you.
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
The normal weight of the fetus which makes it easy for normal delivery is less than 4 kg. This benchmark may vary, because it is also adjusted to the size of your pelvis. However, in general, if your estimated fetal weight is 3.2 kg, then in fact it is still possible to carry out a normal delivery, as long as there are no other contraindications to prevent it.
Determining the best delivery technique, whether by normal delivery or by cesarean delivery, is not only done by considering the weight of the fetus. There are a variety of other factors that also deserve evaluation, namely:
Maternal factors, such as age, history of previous labor, size and shape of the pelvic cavity, history of illness, presence or absence of obstruction in the lower reproductive organs (for example due to myoma, cancer, genital warts), high myopia, excessive fear
Fetal factors, eg fetal distress, musculoskeletal defects, fetal presentation, fetal distress, gemelli (twins)
Other factors, such as the position of the placenta, and so on
When the womb has reached 37 weeks, the fetus is actually ready to be born. For this reason, in order to scientifically appear contractions, it is recommended for mothers to walk a lot and move actively, including doing pregnancy exercises. According to some sources, sexual intercourse with ejaculation in the vagina can help stimulate labor contractions.
The imminence of labor can be marked by the appearance of labor contractions, which are characterized by pain or a burning sensation in the lower abdominal area radiating up to the back, with increasing intensity, longer duration, and also increasing frequency. Not only that, you will also see blood or amniotic fluid coming out of your birth canal. If you experience this condition, don't delay to see a doctor or obstetrician directly.
I hope this helps.
