The Production Of Breast Milk From A Breast That Has A Benign Tumor?
Good afternoon doctor. I am 21 years old. Both of my breasts have had a benign tumor, and have already been removed. My question, Can I still produce good milk for my baby? Thanks Doctor.
Are you referring to a benign tumor fibroadenoma or something else? Fibroadenoma is a benign tumor in the breast that can enlarge during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to hormonal influences. But fibroadenoma is not dangerous. If it is large or causes complaints, fibroadenoma can be operated on.
Fibroadenoma in general does not affect milk production, especially if it has been removed. Thus, you don't need to worry. Mothers with a history of fibroadeoma can still breastfeed as usual and are still advised to breastfeed exclusively for 6 months then continue for up to 2 years.
To increase milk production, you can do the following tips:
Increase consumption of healthy foods to increase milk
Get enough rest
Drink a lot of water
Try the body is not tired
Manage stress well
Continue to breastfeed all babies, if necessary periodically milking
Convinced that milk is enough for a baby
Sharing with other nursing mothers to increase enthusiasm in breastfeeding
But if you don't mean fibroadenoma, or if a lump in your breast has returned, I suggest consulting your doctor directly again.
Hope it helps you,
